The point of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

bloodybabyy:

the point of pouring a shit ton of ice water over yourself is because when one suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) one of the effects the disease has is a numbness throughout the body, as well as struggling to breathe, and both these are meant to temporarily happen when doused in freezing water. It’s to raise awareness of what ALS feels like and encourage donations towards research and cures.

Dear Lisbon.
I hope this finds you well. All is well here. I have my routines. Weather is finally turned. It´s a little cooler, far from cool. But the ocean´s still warm. And with the warm motion currents comes an abundance of sealife. Just yesterday I wached a pod of dolphins play so close to shore I almost touch them. They´re the kind of things I think you´d enjoy.
(…)
I´ve been meaning to apologize for leaving you on the beach that night. You being absent is the one thing that made this new chapter strange and sad.
Miss you.

Almost. It’s a big word for me. I feel it everywhere. Almost home. Almost happy. Almost changed. Almost, but not quite. Not yet. Soon, maybe.

Being a nice person is so fun

Waiter messes something up? You can see the relief on their faces when you don’t scream and swear at them about it

Extra tickets at an arcade/prize place? Watch a little kid’s face light up when you give them a bunch of tickets

There are too many assholes in this world. Be a nice person.

The first time I held a human brain in Anatomy Lab I was completely speechless. I looked at my classmates expecting a similar reaction and they looked back at me confused like…”dude let’s start identifying the structures.” I had to take a step back and let it process…in my hands was someone’s entire life. From start to finish, every memory, every emotion, every bodily control…was right there in my hands.

I don’t care if people unfollow this is spectacular

This post just fucked me up literally
